Upcoming Event – Emergency @ Greenroom!

thumb_emergencyComing to the Greenroom in Manchester, Emergency is a performance platform for up & coming artists. Free to the public, the event runs this Friday and Saturday.

On the Friday night, the uni are running a coach to the event for current students, with tickets costing just £5; significantly less than the train will cost and an excellent opportunity to discover this key venue for contemporary arts in the North-West.

Emergency hosts a huge number of upcoming performers, and on the Saturday evening this even includes a former MA student at Chester – Astrid Breel.

As their website says, the events include the following…

  • the best housewarming party you have ever experienced;
  • a gin swigging, vengeance fueled bigamist and the story of how a sandwich caused the first world war.
  • a woman becoming a bodybuilder; a woman becoming a mermaid; a woman who thinks she’s a horse;
  • a man dragging a coffin; a man thinking about jumping;
  • a big red postbox; a little pink love tent; an interactive board game

Tickets for the Friday night coach, which leaves Binks on main campus at 3.30pm and the Kingsway Buildings at 3.40pm are just £5. Entry to either night of the event is free, though booking is advised.
